The Kent Panthers Sixth Form Open Evening, delivered in partnership with Cornwallis Academy in Maidstone, will take place on 27 November 2025 from 5:30–7:30pm.
This evening will give prospective students and families the chance to meet Head Coach Ryan Richards, explore our facilities, and gain a full insight into what makes the Kent Panthers Sixth Form Basketball Academy one of the fastest-growing performance programmes in the region.
Our academy offers a dual-pathway model, combining high-level basketball development with a strong academic foundation. Students can study a wide range of A Levels and BTEC qualifications, fully integrated into their daily timetable. This structure allows athletes to pursue their sporting ambitions while maintaining academic progression and future career options — whether that’s university, US colleges, professional basketball, or wider career pathways.
Athletes benefit from over 10 hours of basketball per week, including on-court technical sessions, tactical development, strength and conditioning, video analysis, and competitive opportunities. Players are coached using professional standards and structures, ensuring they develop the fundamentals, IQ, and physical attributes required to reach the next level.
The programme also provides access to national and international competitions, exposure to college and professional scouts, and a pathway into the Kent Panthers NBL structure and senior programmes. Our environment promotes discipline, teamwork, resilience, and leadership — qualities that extend far beyond the court.
We encourage all interested students, parents, and carers to attend the open evening to discover how our academy can support both academic achievement and elite basketball development in a supportive, ambitious, and inspiring setting.
From 6.30 – 7.30 you will have the chance to join in with a practice session so please bring appropriate sports wear if you wish to participate.
